Peeling off the old wallpaper revealed a fire escape door which was the perfect starting point for getting some natural light into the ensuite bathroom.  Glass bricks, reclaimed from a local hospital, were used for this opening and set the palette for the decor.  Calibrated slate is a beautiful (& low cost) material which compliment the bricks. A space saving towel rail & clever shelving above/under the sink & niches (within the walls) offers ample storage & leaves the room feeling a generous size
